Maryland's Way, The Hammond-Harwood House Cook Book was published in 1963 and has become one of Maryland's most iconic cookbooks. Included in this cookbook are recipes found in historic handwritten journals as well as many that were donated by Marylanders from across the state. To honor the approaching 60th anniversary of its initial publication, Hammond-Harwood House is teaming with the Maryland State Archives to continue the search for recipes that fully represent Maryland's evolving cuisine. Whether your family's ties to Maryland date back centuries or just a few years, we want to know about the recipes that celebrate your family's history & traditions within the great State of Maryland, and these will be preserved at the Maryland State Archives where researchers be able to access them.

Does your family have a Maryland spin on a classic recipe? Do your recipes have historic influences like Native American, African American, European, Asian, Latin American, or something else? Great, we want to hear about them. Your recipes and the memories that surround them should be preserved for generations to come.
